GameObjects, Scripts, and Components
The universe of Unity is made of GameObjects, Scripts, and Components.
A GameObject is a 2D or 3D object in your world. A GameObject can have Scripts and/or Components attached to it. GameObjects all will have a "Transform" component, which lets you alter the position, rotation, and scale of the GameObject. (GameObjects in the Unity Manual)
A Script is a piece of code that is written in the C#, JavaScript, or Boo coding languages. All tutorials on this website will be in C#. Scripts can also be click-and-dragged onto a GameObject. (Scripting in the Unity Manual)
A Component is a functional piece that Unity provides to you that can be attached to GameObjects. (Components in the Unity Manual)
